Takashi’s is definitely a must try restaurant. We wanted to go somewhere special for our anniversary and we chose Takashi because it has consistently been rated at the top for sushi in the Salt Lake valley. The parking is a bit of an adventure, recommend using one of the public parking lots around there, but parking is not great. The restaurant has a lot of mystique and personality. It’s near the Market Street in an older part of town but is still nice. The inside is decorated very modern with some great touches from the giant fish and chalk specials board. The food was good, mush better than a low-end sushi restaurant. The food did have some nice touches, but I wouldn’t say they are head and shoulders better than Sushi Monster or Mikado. Definitely one of the best though.Food
The rolls we had were all very tasty, I tried the Strawberry Fields roll though and the chillies had a kick that kept on kicking. Everything tasted very fresh and I’d highly recommend anything on the menu.
The restaurant is in an older part of town but there was nothing that jumped out at me that would make me worry about the cleanliness of the restaurant.
The service was good, our waitress was friendly and quick and readily dished on some recommendations and a little history about Takashi and the restaurant.
The price was good, what I’d expect from an upscale sushi restaurant. I didn’t see any two for ones or half off here. You get quality food for a fair price. So if you want somewhere nice to take that special someone on a special occasion I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Takashi’s.
